Head of Cybersecurity

Taking many turns in his career, it’s Tim’s sense of belonging that led him to become one of Fantastic Furniture’s many boomerang employees.

Fresh out of University, Tim got his foot in the door in a Service Desk role. Nine months on, his hard work landed a promotion to Team Leader.

Jumping across to a Team Leader/Assistant Administrator split role, Tim could enjoy the best of both worlds. Using both his customer service and technology skills, it was a fast way to understand the broader business.

Taking leave for a year, Tim played and worked hard in London to gain some serious infrastructure experience.

Tim was welcomed back by Fantastic Furniture as a Systems Engineer, then Head of Cybersecurity.

His time away made him realise how great the Fantastic Furniture people and culture are.

“The people are pretty incredible and have a shared vision to do the best for our customers. We work hard but we just have fun. No one takes themself too seriously.”

Amongst the fun, Tim had some memorable moments of hard work and dedication too. Tim recalls putting his hand up during the Queensland floods to tackle the mammoth task of getting a vital server back up and running. His efforts saved the company around $50,000 and precious time.

“I felt really recognised – it was a nice feeling to know that I saved a bunch of money and headache.”
